A Toastmasters Journey

Genell Monsegue- Thomas shares her inspiring story on how she became a Toastmaster.

I became a member of the Talk Tsu Toastmasters club after a visit in February 2011. I loved the camaraderie and team spirit of the club.

For most of my early school days, I found it quite nerve wrecking to face a crowd.  When I commenced my tertiary studies I decided, “Enough!” and I started volunteering to present course work.

I got married last year and decided that I would work on my own speech, welcoming guests and explaining the unique way in which I met my husband. My confidence grew.

My mother, Everyl Monsegue, decided to become a member of Talk Tsu in January 2011 after attending one meeting.  She informed me of her interesting experience and in similar fashion I joined.

I recently volunteered to present a speech for the Toastmasters International Humourous Speaking Competition where I placed second. I anticipate an exciting future with my Talk Tsu family.
